J-POWER Begins Construction of Himeji Oshio Solar Power Station J-POWER's solar power generation operations in Japan

J-Solar Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kanno; 'J-POWER') began construction today of the Himeji Oshio Solar Power Station.

The J-POWER Group established J-Solar Co., Ltd. in August 2023 to manage solar power generation operations. Through this company, J-POWER is promoting business for solar power generation using the Himeji Oshio station. With the understanding and cooperation of local residents and related parties, construction work has begun-with full consideration for environmental protection-aiming to start commercial operation in October 2024.

The J-POWER Group's involvement in a range of power generation businesses includes hydroelectric, wind (onshore and offshore), geothermal, and solar power. The Group is committed to introducing more renewable energy projects to achieve carbon neutrality, as stated in J-POWER BLUE MISSION 2050.
