Elektro plans to invest nearly BRL 16.5 million (USD 6.8 million/EUR 5m) in energy efficiency projects in the 228 municipalities in its concession area in southeastern Sao Paulo state in 2014. The target of the investments is the saving of 26,000 MWh of electricity. Of the total, over BRL 10.5 million will be spent on projects earmarked for low-income citizens.

Another BRL 2.3 million will be allocated for the improvement of the energy efficiency in public buildings, public LED lightning and pilot projects for distributed generation.
