MADRID, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Spanish gas grid operator Enagas said on Tuesday that it was on track to meet the top end of its profit guidance.

The company posted a profit of 258.9 million euros ($276.5 million) in the first nine months of the year, down almost 27% from the 353.4 million euros it reported in the same period in 2022, it said.

Excluding one-offs like sales of assets, net profit declined about 16%, which the company attributed to having to charge lower fees in its home market due to a 2020 regulation change.

Enagas said it targets a net profit of between 310 million euros and 320 million euros this year.

The results were roughly in line with expectations, according to RBC analyst Fernando Garcia. ($1 = 0.9364 euros) (Reporting by Pietro Lombardi; Editing by David Latona, Kirsten Donovan)
