Airbiquity, announced an agreement with EnGIS Technologies to integrate the EnGIS DM Differential Tool and Software Installer Client into Airbiquity's recently launched Software & Data Management offering. This strategic agreement represents the continued expansion of over-the-air (OTA) technology provider integration into the company's Software & Data Management solution for the configuration and automation of large-scale vehicle software update and data collection campaigns using its Choreo cloud-based service delivery platform. Cloud-based OTA vehicle software update campaigns for software related recalls-including cybersecurity breaches-is forecasted to provide huge financial benefits to automakers in the years ahead. Worldwide automaker cost savings for OTA software updates are projected to grow from $2.7 billion in 2015 to over $35 billion by 2022, according to IHS. Additionally, OTA software updates will enable automakers to achieve faster recall compliance, eliminate the time intensive consumer burden of bringing vehicles to dealers for repairs, and deliver post-purchase performance and feature enhancements contributing to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
