Houston-based Erin Energy Corp. has shuffled its leadership around once again, promoting a new CEO from within its own ranks and appointing a handful of directors. The company named Femi Ayoade to its top executive spot.

Previously, Ayoade was the company's vice president of production operations. He was also given a seat on Erin's board of directors. Erin, an upstream company with assets in sub-Saharan Africa, also appointed Frank Ingriselli as the chairman of its executive board.

John Rudley and Mahmud Yayale Ahmed were both named to spots on the company's board of directors. Rudley was president of Texas Southern University until midway through last year, and Yayale has held a number of positions in the Nigerian government throughout his career, including Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The hires replace gaps left by the resignation of the former chairman CEO, Segun Omidele, in February.

Erin has been under the leadership since then of an interim CEO, Jean-Michel Malek.
