Oceaneering, a global provider of engineered services and products tailored to the offshore energy industry has placed an initial order for a minimum of 100 Exail Octans Attitude Heading Referencing Systems (AHRS). This strategic move underscores Oceaneering's commitment to excellence and innovation while significantly enhancing its capabilities in offshore survey and positioning projects.

The Exail Octans systems, delivering highly precise real-time attitude and heading data, will be seamlessly integrated into various offshore platforms, including high-specification offshore field support vessel navigation suites, deep-water drillship Remotely Operated Survey (ROS) positioning systems, dynamic positioning platforms and general USBL positioning systems. This integration addresses the requirements of Oceaneering's clients for high-performance and high-precision navigation, control, and stabilization.

"At Oceaneering, we recognize the paramount importance of best-in-class, dependable and high-performance navigation systems in the offshore industry. The initial acquisition of 100 Octans AHRS units from Exail underscores our dedication to providing groundbreaking and efficient solutions. These advanced AHRS will revolutionize our offshore operations, setting new industry standards for accuracy and reliability, all while delivering high end customer value" said Mark Beaton, Senior Manager Survey & Positioning Solutions at Oceaneering.

For Exail, this significant contract represents a milestone achievement as it stands as the most substantial order for their latest generation of Octans systems. "This new order, complementing Oceaneering's existing portfolio of Exail maritime sensors and robotics equipment, reaffirms the reliability and quality of Exail's solutions, further strengthening our trusted partnership. We have no doubt that Octans' new features will elevate operators' navigation capabilities and significantly enhance the flexibility and efficiency of their offshore operations", said Euan MacKay, Business Development Manager at Exail.

The latest generation of Octans AHRS comes equipped with advanced features, including reduced size, enhanced durability, lower power consumption, in-motion alignment, and advanced GNSS sensors. The delivery of the systems is scheduled to commence in January 2024.
