On Thursday, Figeac Aéro announced the appointment to its Board of Directors of a former Airbus executive, whose experience in the sector should enable the company to support its development.

Following the resignation of Eric Raynaud, the aeronautical equipment manufacturer says it has decided to co-opt Albert Varenne as an independent director for the remainder of his term of office, i.e. until the close of the 2028 Annual General Meeting.

His appointment will be submitted for ratification at the company's next Annual General Meeting.

Trained as an aerostructures engineer, Albert Varenne contributed at Socata to the development of fairings for the Airbus A330/A340 programs, which led him to join the aircraft manufacturer in 2004 as composite materials purchasing manager.

He was then promoted to head of international purchasing cooperation for aerostructures activities, before becoming, in 2016, head of the regional procurement office for China and Southeast Asia.

Figeac Aéro - which manufactures structural parts in light alloys and hard metals, engine parts and landing gear - climbed 3% on Thursday on the Paris Bourse following this appointment.
