Fred Receives Two Stalking Horse Bids

Fred's, Inc. (OTCPK:FRED.Q) announced two stalking horse offers for a combined $22.5 million ahead of an October 28, 2019 auction. Tucker Northwest LLC was named stalking horse with a $13.025 million offer for Fred's distribution center in Dublin, Ga. Additionally Fred's has selected a $9.5 million offer from Wilson Enterprises, Inc. for 56 of its properties. The deadline for competing bids is October 21, 2019, followed by an auction on October 28, 2019. Fred's will announce a winning bidder by October 29, 2019.

The Company has approximately 556 retail stores in over 15 states mainly in the Southeastern United States. The Company is licensed to dispense pharmaceuticals in approximately 14 states. The Company's prescription drugs are ordered by its pharmacies individually and shipped directly from the Company's primary pharmaceutical wholesaler, Cardinal Health, Inc., to the pharmacies approximately five days a week. Fred's Brand products include health, beauty and personal care products, household cleaning supplies, disposable diapers, pet foods, paper products and a variety of general merchandise, food and beverage products.
