Grupo Famsa, S.A.B. de C.V. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was MXN 807.08 million compared to MXN 780.17 million a year ago. Net loss was MXN 665.75 million compared to MXN 432.16 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was MXN 1.19 compared to MXN 0.77 a year ago. Basic loss per share was MXN 1.19 compared to MXN 0.77 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was MXN 2,681.58 million compared to MXN 5,537.75 million a year ago. Net loss was MXN 2,767.69 million compared to MXN 13,808.64 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was MXN 4.95 compared to MXN 3.49 a year ago. Basic loss per share was MXN 4.95 compared to MXN 24.67 a year ago.
Grupo Famsa SAB de CV is a Mexico-based holding company primarily engaged in retail sector. The Company owns and operates a network of Famsa Mexico department stores located in Mexican cities, as well as Famsa USA stores established in the United States. Via its retail network, the Company is active in the import, distribution and sale of household appliances, furniture and consumer electronics, among others. Through Banco Ahorro Famsa SA Institucion de Banca Multiple, the Company is also involved in the provision of a variety of banking and sales financing services to its retail customers.
