GTI Energy Ltd (ASX:GTR) has brought on board as executive director James (Jim) Baughman, a highly experienced Wyoming uranium geologist and corporate executive who will help guide GTI's technical and commercial activities in the US.

Baughman, QP (SME-RM) GDB/Red Desert has already been assisting GTI in the US on a consulting basis since September 2021, but with the addition of the Green Mountain project to GTI's portfolio and an increase in field and corporate activity in Wyoming, he will now take a more prominent role.

GTI acquired 100% of ~22,000 acres (~8,900 hectares) across several groups of strategically located and underexplored mineral lode claims and two state leases that make up Green Mountain, prospective for sandstone hosted uranium that is amenable to low-cost, low environmental impact ISR mining.

Baughman has a string of highlights in his resume including being past president and CEO of High Plains Uranium, which sold for US$55 million in 2006, and Cyclone Uranium.

Invaluable technical experience

He has more than 30 years of experience advancing minerals projects from grassroots to advanced stage and has held senior positions (ie, chief geologist, chairman, president, acting CFO, COO) in private and publicly traded mining and mineral exploration companies.

Baughman is a registered member of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy, Exploration and a member of the Society of Economic Geologists with a BSc in Geology (1983 University of Wyoming) and is a registered professional geologist (P. Geo State of Wyoming). He is also a registered Member of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy.

GTI executive director Bruce Lane said: "We are delighted that we have been able to secure Jim's ongoing services as a director and executive. He brings a wealth of highly relevant technical and commercial experience and relationships that will prove invaluable to GTI as we execute our ISR uranium strategy in Wyoming.

"We welcome him onboard and look forward to his contribution."
