HONOLULU, March 21, 2024 - Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole on Waipahu Street fronting Stepping Stones Academy and The Salvation Army Thrift Store on Tuesday, March 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The work will impact vehicular and foot traffic and restrict street parking in the construction zone.

For the safety of the public and crews, the work requires partial closure of the Honolulu-bound lane of Waipahu St. between Puamano Place and Mokuola Street. Parking will be restricted on both sides of Waipahu St. and lanes altered to allow continuous traffic in both directions. The sidewalk in the work area will be closed and pedestrians directed to the opposite side of Waipahu St.

A message board will be posted. Flagmen will help with onsite traffic control. Safety signs, arrow boards and traffic cones will mark the work area and guide motorists through the altered lanes. Motorists should drive with caution when approaching and passing the work zone, expect traffic delays or use alternate routes.
