Understanding that helping those at the frontlines of the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak is critical, Hemas FMCG donated a large quantity of Shield soap to the Navy General Hospital recently.

The courageous medical and field staff of the Navy General Hospital in Welisara, which is categorised as a COVID-19 centre, are in the forefront battling against the disease, and continue to work tirelessly, knowingly putting themselves at risk to save lives.

Supporting the Navy Hospital is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by Hemas FMCG to provide all possible assistance to support the nation during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

Elaborating on the donation, Hemas Manufacturing Marketing Director Fiona Juriansz Munasinghe said: 'The coronavirus pandemic continues to have a tremendous impact on our society. We are deeply committed towards supporting the nation, and to assist those who are in need, especially health workers and personnel in the frontline who are stepping directly into COVID-19's path to aid the afflicted and help halt the virus' spread.'

Hemas Shield soap is dermatologically tested and proven to be safe and non-irritant to the skin. The charcoal infused Shield soap, deeply cleanses the skin warding off germs and bacteria. With numbers of those infected rising, health authorities continue to emphasise the importance of hand-washing and maintaining a strict hygiene regime.

Previously, Hemas FMCG donated Shield hand sanitiser packs to officers-in-charge of the national hospital of Sri Lanka, the country's largest teaching hospital, the Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama and the District General Hospital, Negombo. Additionally, a large quantity of Hemas FMCG personal care items were for also handed over to the Sri Lankan Army for use in the quarantine centres.
