The Herige Group, a construction specialist, has announced lower first-half results, as unfavorable economic conditions, mainly in the new-build market, put a strain on its accounts.

The Vendée-based company, which has a strong presence in the Grand-Ouest region, posted Ebitda of €28.8 million for the first six months of the year, down 7.1% year-on-year.

The Ebitda margin came to 6.3%, down 1.2 points on the first half of 2022.

Operating income came to 18.3 million, down 18.7% on the same period last year, for an operating margin rate of 4% versus 5.4% a year earlier.

Net income, Group share, came to 9.8 million euros at the end of the first half, compared with 14.4 million euros a year earlier.

Despite a geopolitical and macroeconomic environment deemed uncertain, marked by rising interest rates, persistently high inflation and a declining new-build market, the Group assures that it intends to continue implementing its strategic priorities.

Following this publication, Herige - which specializes in materials trading, the concrete industry and industrial joinery - fell by 11% on the Paris Bourse on Wednesday.
