Device Capture Capacitive Touch Panel

Hosiden has developed a Device Capture Capacitive Touch Panel on which input devices including physical dials can be incorporated as desired.

By utilizing a concave inset dial-switch as an input device, this touch panel realizes dial-in display switch functionality. In addition to its excellent visibility, an optimized combination of an input device with an integrated touch panel allows a natural feel and a smooth operating experience.

The force sensing function developed independently by Hosiden enables incorporation of push-on operation for input devices. When installed with a 4-channel GPIO, operational feedback can be included, such as sound or vibration, corresponding to each operation, including touch, dial, or push-on, all without the need of a host controller.

This touch panel has great potential as a high-performance input device not only for automotive applications such as with in-vehicle heaters, but also for ticket vending machines or other industrial equipment.
