Huvis (CEO Shin, You Dong), specializing in chemical and fiber materials, announced on March 3 that it had donated bedding to help those in need in the Jeonbuk region to stay warm throughout the last cold snap. Twenty sets of bedding consisting of blankets and pads made of the company's fiber materials were donated to the Jeonju Briquette Bank, a local charity.
The donation is part of Better Tomorrow Assistance, one of Huvis' key social contribution initiatives. The idea behind the donation is that more care and interest need to be given to those in need financially in the community due to the devastating omicron variant of COVID-19 amid the pandemic.
"Leading day-to-day life through the prolonged pandemic is still financially challenging for low income families," says Goh Seong-wook, Director of Huvis' Jeonju Plant. "We hope that the blankets we have donated will help those in need stay warm throughout the turn of the season. We will remain fully committed to fulfilling our social responsibilities for the community."
Other initiatives carried out under the company's commitment to social contribution and ESG management include offering free meals during school breaks, donating uniforms, and delivering briquettes.
