IBC Bank Senior Vice- President Eddie Aldrete Named 2017 Bond Tri-Chair

In recognition of his community leadership and engagement, Mayor Ivy R. Taylor appointed IBC Bank Senior Vice President Eddie Aldrete as a tri-chair to the 2017 San Antonio Bond Program.

'I am honored to serve the City of San Antonio as a tri-chair for the 2017-2022 Municipal Bond Program, which is critical to meeting the current needs of the city and laying the foundation for the next million people set to arrive in San Antonio over the next 20 years,' stated Aldrete. 'I look forward to working with my fellow tri-chairs and the many community members that will organize and prioritize community projects that will keep and improve San Antonio's quality of life and status as a competitive city.' As IBC Bank Senior Vice President, Aldrete monitors local, state and federal policies that directly impact the financial services industry. Along with his official duties at the bank, Aldrete has been a tireless community volunteer and due to that, the San Antonio Express-News identified him, in 2014, as one of the most influential people of the Alamo City. In 2010, Campaigns & Elections Magazine named Aldrete in the Top 100 Most Influential People in Texas Politics and Government.

Locally, Aldrete currently serves on the boards of the San Antonio Chamber, The Witte Museum, and the Bexar County Masters Leadership Program. Previously, he served on the board of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber and served as its chairman in 2011, where he helped launch the Chamber's annual Small Business Expo, the CORE-4 STEM Expo and San Antonio's first MicroSociety at Adams Elementary School. He has also served on the boards of the San Antonio Symphony, San Antonio Public Library Foundation and a host of public task forces and blue ribbon committees. In 2012, Mayor Julian Castro appointed him as co-chair for the Facilities Committee of the 2012 Bond Program.

Aldrete also serves on the boards of the Texas Bankers Association and the Texas Association of Business as well as on the national board of the San Antonio-based AVANCE, and is Vice Chairman of the Washington, DC-based National Immigration Forum.

In 2015, he was appointed by San Antonio Mayor Ivy R. Taylor to the board of SA Works, an industry led coalition assembled to create a pipeline to fill the city's pressing talent needs.

Aldrete has also served as co-chair for the Facilities and Community Initiatives Committee Board 2012-2017 Program and added, 'As a committee chair in the last bond effort, we heard from all sectors of the city on a wide variety of projects, all of which were worthy of funding. Now, as a tri-chair, part of my role is to ensure that all the voices from each of the potential projects are heard so that we can help prioritize them. I look forward to working with community members. Their input drives the priorities, and we are here to listen.'
