IOI Corporation Berhad announced appointment of MR. LIM TUANG OOI, aged 61 as Independent and Non Executive Director, effective on July 18, 2023. He has completed his professional qualification in Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and Certified Public Accountant from Malaysia Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Working experience and occupation: Mr. Lim Tuang Ooi (Mr James Lim) is a Chartered Accountant with over 40 years of experience in the fields of risk management, banking and accounting.

He is a member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants. He began his career with KPMG where he qualified as an accountant and worked in the areas of audit, tax and consultancy. He later joined Citibank for 15 years where he held key management roles including business banking, credit and market risk management, customer service, quality management, analytics, financial modelling and operations.

He was also the Chief Financial Officer of Hong Leong Bank Berhad for 3 years, responsible for financial management, accounting operations, tax management, strategic planning and risk management. Mr. James Lim then joined the Employees Provident Fund ("EPF") from 2007 to 2019 as the Senior General Manager and Head of Risk Management Division. He was effectively the Chief Risk Officer, responsible for the overall risk management and governance division.

He has helped transformed the risk management practice of EPF and facilitated in embedding risk philosophy into the Strategic Asset Allocation Investment model, resulting in EPF being able to deliver consistent risk adjusted returns. After his stint at the EPF, Mr. James Lim became the Senior Adviser and Director at Khazanah Nasional Berhad from 2019 to 2021, responsible for setting up the investment risk management, governance structure and compliance framework. Mr. James Lim was awarded with the Most Advanced Implementer of Q-Radar (Corporate Risk Scorecard) in 2009 and Excellence in Enterprise Risk Management in 2016.
