Ukrainian pig producers have initiated the creation of an alliance for production cooperation to increase profitability and reduce risks in the field of pork production. This was reported by the press service of the KSG Agro agricultural holding.

Ukrainian livestock producers have decided to join forces to develop production cooperation in the Ukrainian pig industry on the platform of the National Alliance of Pork Producers. The main goal of the association is to achieve high profitability, reduce risks, and develop a promising and dynamic market.

The initiative group of farmers conducted professional monitoring and analysis of the pork market during the war. Based on the analytical data, the initiative group developed a business model of cooperation that can become a driver for the development of pig farms even in the current difficult situation for agribusiness. It will form the basis of cooperation within the future Alliance.

Ukrainian pork farms, breeding farms, representatives of world leaders in the field of genetics, pig farming equipment, suppliers of feed and veterinary products, etc. are invited to join the association.

Currently, pig producers from Khmelnytsky, Rivne, and Lviv regions have already expressed interest in joining the Alliance. Genesus Ukraine, the supplier of Canadian Genesus genetics, also considers the activities of such an association promising, as confirmed by its director Yevhen Shatokhin at the meeting.

An important area of cooperation will be professional consulting, which will give the alliance members access to already proven effective technologies and production strategies that will reduce production costs. However, the main driver of market development within the Alliance should be production cooperation, exchange of experience and practices of pig market participants - breeders and farmers from different regions of Ukraine.

"We are currently offering our colleagues a model where we supply piglets of high-quality Canadian genetics for growing, coordinate training of specialists, provide consulting services on growing technologies, fattening, use of veterinary drugs, etc. Feed and veterinary medicine suppliers can also join the supply chain. The partners share not only risks but also profits, so they are motivated to achieve the best results. We are confident that this approach will help to meet the traditionally high demand of Ukrainians for pork, and ultimately to the dynamic development of pig production in Ukraine," commented Ihor Ushakov, Director of Strong Invest LLC, on the meeting of pork producers.

The pilot project for testing production cooperation within the framework of the future Alliance has already been the cooperation of an enterprise in the Khmelnytsky region, where about 8 thousand 25-kilogram piglets will be raised to slaughter conditions (110-120 kg) at the same time, with a supplier - KSG Agro.

The proposed development concept will significantly expand the production capabilities of those who join the Alliance and the industry as a whole in the shortest possible time. The new cooperation system will help not only increase the livestock potential of Ukraine but also contribute to strengthening the country's food security system, the initiators of the association are confident.
