KSG Agro is developing a pig farm in the Kherson region on a partnership basis. This was reported by the company's press service.

KSG Agro is developing a partnership program with one of the pig farms in Beryslav district, Kherson region.

"In regions that have been destroyed by war, local production can no longer meet the needs of people for meat products, including pork. Therefore, we see our social responsibility in developing the pig business for the sake of food security in the frontline areas," comments Sergiy Kasianov, Chairman of the Board of Directors at KSG Agro. - "To this end, in Kherson region, we have moved from supplying pork to investing and directly reviving production facilities. In particular, we are talking about the pig farm in Beryslav district, where we have already increased the number of animals from 500 to more than 21 thousand."

The pig farm in Kherson region has already produced 32.2 thousand heads of stock, 13.03 thousand of which were sold to fattening sites in the country.

"At the pig farm we are developing in the de-occupied part of the Kherson region, the occupiers did not have time to cause serious damage to the farm, but we had to restore several buildings. In addition, there was no power and water supply, no necessary modern equipment, and a shortage of employees," says Viktor Nechmilov, Chief Technologist at KSG Agro. - "In order to minimize the impact of wartime realities on the business, we purchased five diesel generators. So the site in Kherson region initially operated on generators. Fortunately, the solar panels there were undamaged, and they helped us for some time on clear days. Later, we restored electricity and water supply, not only at the pig farm but also in the village where it is located. We installed modern imported auto-feeding equipment and other necessary machinery. The staff shortage was initially covered by our employees from the pig farm in Dnipropetrovs'k region, more than 100 people worked on a shift basis, and now we have fully staffed the team with local specialists."

According to Viktor Nechmilov, the pig farm is at risk of enemy attacks, with the front line 20 kilometers away, so a bomb shelter has been set up. Sometimes the workers have to visit the bomb shelter 2-3 times a day because of shelling.

All employees of the pig farm are provided with two sets of overalls and footwear, biological protection equipment, free meals three times a day, can stay in a dormitory, and use free internet both at work and at home.

The employees of the enterprise, who are working under constant attacks by the occupiers, were personally thanked by the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin. During his visit to the pig farm, he presented the employees with certificates of honor.

The nearest plans for the development of the pig farm in Kherson region include an increase in the breeding stock by the end of 2023.
