Lavoro Limited reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended March 31, 2023. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was BRL 2,526.16 million compared to BRL 2,609.8 million a year ago. Net loss was BRL 387.55 million compared to net income of BRL 66.6 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was BRL 3.41 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of BRL 0.58 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was BRL 3.41 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of BRL 0.58 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was BRL 8,032.33 million compared to BRL 6,624.58 million a year ago. Net loss was BRL 178.24 million compared to net income of BRL 187.64 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was BRL 1.57 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of BRL 1.65 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was BRL 1.57 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of BRL 1.65 a year ago.
Lavoro Limited is a Brazil-based agricultural input retailer and a provider of agriculture biologics inputs. The Company has three reportable segments: the Brazil Cluster, which comprises companies dedicated to the distribution of agricultural inputs such as crop protection, seeds, fertilizers and specialty products, in Brazil; the LATAM Cluster, which includes companies dedicated to the distribution ofagricultural inputs outside Brazil primarily in Colombia; as well as the Crop Care Cluster, which includes companies that produce and import Lavoro's own portfolio of private label products including off-patent crop protection and specialty products, e.g., biologicals and specialty fertilizers. The main crops served are: soy, corn, cotton, coffee, beans, rice, sugar cane, wheat, citrus and pastures. The Company has a broad geographical presence, operating in Brazil, Colombia, and Uruguay.
