Intelligent Energy announced that it is entering into a strategic integration partnership with FlightWave Aerospace. The partnership will enable FlightWave to integrate Intelligent Energy's innovative lightweight 650W fuel cell power module into their UAV product range within North America. The first product from this partnership will be FlightWave's 'Jupiter-H2', a multi-rotor, endurance UAV capable of flying for up to two hours. The 'Jupiter-H2' UAV will be powered by Intelligent Energy's market leading, lightweight, air cooled fuel cell technology. The two companies will be unveiling the new 'Jupiter-H2' UAV at InterDrone in Las Vegas this week (6-8 September). As well as jointly unveiling the 'Jupiter-H2', Intelligent Energy is excited to be launching its own proprietary lightweight 650W fuel cell module that has been purposely designed for the UAV market. It offers significantly longer flight times compared to traditional battery power. Key benefits for the end user include increased productivity and less downtime owing to quick refuelling and increased payload capability, meaning the UAV can fly longer, fly further and achieve more. The lightweight 650W fuel cell module is available now for order. The 650W module runs on hydrogen and ambient air to produce clean power in a simple, cost effective, robust and lightweight package. It is scalable and can be integrated into UAV platforms without compromising payload placement, providing an optimised operational solution for a wide range of industries. Intelligent Energy's 650W fuel cell module will be used to power the Jupiter-H2, which is the first UAV to be uniquely designed around its technology. 'Jupiter-H2' is expected to be available from January 2018 worldwide, and the two companies will work together to market 'Jupiter-H2' across a variety of industries with orders now being taken.
