Kings Hill has been named one of the best places in the UK to raise a family by the Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper cited schooling as a priority when families decide where to bring up their children but added that other key requirements include good parks and playgrounds, child-friendly cafés, woodland walks, cycle paths and sports facilities.

It described Kings Hill as a 'safe, child-friendly environment' and that 'the sports facilities would be the envy of any community, while there are also high-achieving schools and a good network of safe cycle paths'.

It also said that homes at Kings Hill are highly sought after, a fact illustrated by the speed at which new houses sell.

"Sales at Kings Hill remain buoyant and we have been told by purchasers that it is the sense of community here that appeals, enhanced by plenty of places to join in and become part of the community - such as our cricket ground and pavilion, sports park, David Lloyd and golf club," said Susan Davies of Kings Hill New Homes, a marketing forum which includes Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust UK Ltd and house builders developing on site at any one time - currently Bellway Homes, Crest Nicholson and Hillreed Homes.

"As you would expect, sales to young families are driven by the fact that we have two excellent schools at Kings Hill with a third planned. Home owners also comment that they feel they are in a safe and green environment with quality landscaping and great amenities. To be able to walk to work in the business park is also a bonus.

"We also see sales to wider family members, such as grandparents, who are keen to play an active role in bringing up their grandchildren."

Three brand new developments are currently underway at Kings Hill, all of which have show homes open to the public.

Bellway's 'Signature' is a collection of seventy-six properties - two, three, four and five bedroom homes with prices currently ranging from £242,995 - £548,995; Crest Nicholson's 'Woodland Place', has current availability of three-bedroom houses from £310,000 and four-bedroom houses from £450,000 and Hillreed's 'The Poppies', a development of two, three, four and five bedroom homes - all of which are new designs to Hillreed's portfolio with prices starting from £280,000.

Set within acres of landscaped parkland close to shops, restaurants, cafes and leisure amenities, Kings Hill is a garden village with a very active community. It has two primary schools with a third planned, numerous sports and leisure amenities, allotments and many clubs and societies offering a huge range of classes and opportunities to share interests.

Notes to Editors

· Kings Hill New Homes (KHNH) comprises masterplanning developer, Liberty Property Trust UK (LPTUK), and all homebuilders that have acquired and are actively developing residential sites at Kings Hill - the 800 acre, mixed use community in Kent.

· Ranging from niche to national developers, current members of the forum include Bellway, Hillreed and Crest Nicholson. The group is arguably unlike any other collective of developers at a single location in that it is led by LPTUK (a masterplanning developer, not a homebuilder) and all are equal members. As such KHNH is well placed to speak with one voice, with the credentials to provide meaningful commentary on the new homes development market.

· KHNH developers compete on both design and price to be invited to acquire land and develop at Kings Hill - a process which is overseen from planning to delivery of the finished product, by LPTUK. This masterplan-led approach results in a range of quality housing product, providing an excellent choice for purchasers.

· All developers contribute to the forum and help fund any joint marketing initiatives to promote the sale of new homes at Kings Hill.

· Kent County Council and Liberty Property Trust UK are development partners and together form the 'Kings Hill development partnership'. A s part of its proactive economic development role for Kent, the County Council brings its research expertise and extensive previous experience in enabling residential and commercial development across the county to the Kings Hill New Homes initiative.

· The Government's Help to Buy options include Help to Buy Shared Ownership (often known as 'part buy - part rent' and available to first time buyers who fulfill eligibility criteria) and Help to Buy Equity Loan, as offered by homebuilders within Kings Hill New Homes.
