Portola Resources Inc. announced that it has completed the fieldwork on its 2012 exploration program on the Biznaga silver property in Zacatecas, Mexico. The Biznaga Property consists of 3 concessions, comprising the La Biznaga, La Abeja and La Noria concessions, covering an aggregate 998 hectares. The exploration program consisted of detailed geological mapping and sampling of mineralized workings and showings, geophysical surveys (ground magnetics), geochemical sampling and extensions of geochemical anomalous zones. Including, trenching and sampling along geochemical anomalies and fault/feeder structures. The purpose of the program was to define targets for potential follow-up drilling on this silver/base metal property. The work was very encouraging and in particular the geophysical program correlated strongly with known mineralized structures and workings. Final results, analysis and drill target recommendations are pending.

The company is also announced the appointment of Mr. Chris Hobbs, CA to the position of Chief Financial Officer and a director of the company effective immediately. Mr. Hobbs has worked with several public companies and securities firms in an accounting, management, director or CFO role in the past 10 years. The former Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Jerry Minni, remains a director of the company.
