Portola Resources Inc. announced it has commenced its exploration program on the Biznaga silver property in Zacatecas, Mexico. The first phase of this program consists of geophysical surveys (ground magnetics), in-fill geochemical sampling and trenching/sampling over previously identified targets. These targets include silver/base metal veins as well as near surface silver-bearing breccia zones. The purpose of this first phase is to refine and define potential drill targets. The Biznaga Property consists of 3 concessions, comprising the La Biznaga, La Abeja and La Noria concessions, covering an aggregate 998 hectares. The company also announced that the appointment of Jeffrey Cocks as its President, Chief Executive Officer and a director. Mr. Cocks has over 20 years experience providing administration, operational and management services to public companies and currently serves as a director of several TSX Venture Exchange-listed companies. The company has accepted the resignation of Charalambos (Harry) Katevatis, as President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of the Company.
