FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Following the Iranian attack on Israel, the Lufthansa Group is temporarily suspending several flight connections to the Middle East. This affects regular flights to and from Tel Aviv in Israel as well as to Erbil in Iraq and Amman in Jordan, as the Group announced on its website on Sunday. According to current plans, flights to these three destinations will resume on Tuesday. Flights to the capitals of Lebanon and Iran, Beirut and Tehran, will remain suspended until at least Thursday, according to the company.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards launched an attack on Israel with missiles and drones on Saturday. Since Israel, Jordan and Iraq reopened their airspace on Sunday, these airspaces are being used again, Lufthansa said. "The Lufthansa Group is continuously monitoring and assessing the security situation in the Middle East and is in close contact with the authorities," the company said. "The safety of passengers and crews is always our top priority."/bf/DP/he
