FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Lufthansa is building a new conference center at Frankfurt Airport in which two iconic aircraft of the crane airline will also be exhibited. The opening of the building in the immediate vicinity of the Group headquarters is planned for spring 2026, as the MDax group reported on Friday. Two historic Lufthansa aircraft of the types Junkers Ju 52 ("Aunt Ju") and Lockheed Super Star, which have been restored at great expense, are to be permanently exhibited here. Lufthansa did not provide any information on the cost of the new center.

Elsewhere, the company wants to save space and withdraw from rented areas. Office and administrative space is to be reduced by around 60,000 square meters by the end of the year. This corresponds to around 30 percent of the space previously used. Even before the coronavirus crisis, the company had already focused on new workplace concepts in which employees no longer have personal work areas and larger areas are provided for joint project work./ceb/DP/ngu
