Luka Koper d.d. Reports Consolidated Earnings and Production Results for the First Half Ended June 2018; Revises Earnings Guidance for the Year 2018

Luka Koper d.d. reported consolidated earnings results for the first half ended June 2018. For the period, the company reported net profit increased 27% year-on-year to EUR 34.8 million. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased by an annual 27% to EUR 57.12 million. Net revenue from sales went up 5% to EUR 113.3 million, while investments totalled EUR 4.3 million in the first half of 2018, compared to EUR 29.4 million in the like period a year earlier.
For the half year, the company's total cargo throughput remained unchanged on the year at 12 million tonnes, while container throughput expanded to 488,000 TEUs, up 6% year-on-year. Throughput of cars amounted to 409,000 units, 17% ahead on the comparable period in 2017.
The company plans to end 2018 with a consolidated net profit of EUR 55.8 million, up from its earlier target of EUR 49.1 million, on the back of strong first-half results. The company expects its net sales to reach EUR 228.9 million in the year 2018, with strong EBITDA of EUR 95.4 million.
