Melrose Bancorp, Inc. is the bank holding company of Melrose Cooperative Bank (the Bank). The Bank provides financial services to individuals, families and businesses through its banking office in Melrose, Massachusetts. The Bank's primary business activity consists of taking deposits from the general public in its market area and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations. The Bank also offers online and mobile banking services. The Bank's principal lending activity is originating one- to four-family residential real estate loans, and home equity loans and lines of credit. Its investment portfolio consists primarily of corporate debt securities, the United States Government and federal agency obligations, preferred stock, mortgage-backed securities, municipal obligations and marketable equity securities. The Bank's primary source of funds for use in lending and investment activities is deposits.
