- Research and development (R&D) expense: For the three months ended
September 30, 2023 and 2022, R&D expense was$3.4 million and$2.4 million , respectively. R&D expense was higher versus the prior year primarily due to costs associated with the FDA’s review of the Company’s NDA. For the nine months endedSeptember 30, 2023 and 2022, R&D expense was$8.0 million and$11.5 million , respectively. The decrease in R&D expense versus the prior year was primarily due to higher costs in 2022 related to the preparation of the NDA for roluperidone, which was submitted inAugust 2022 . - General and administrative (G&A) expense: For the three months ended
September 30, 2023 and 2022, G&A expense was$2.6 million and$2.8 million , respectively. For the nine months endedSeptember 30, 2023 and 2022, G&A expense was$8.0 million and$8.7 million , respectively. The decrease in G&A expense for the three and nine-months endedSeptember 30, 2023 versus the prior year was primarily due to lower non-cash stock compensation costs. - Non-cash interest expense: For the three months ended
September 30, 2023 and 2022, non-cash interest expense for the sale of future royalties was$2.1 million and$1.9 million , respectively.
