Mitsui Sugar Co., Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the six months ended September 30, 2016. For the period the company announced net sales of JPY 51,232 million compared to JPY 49,332 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 2,231 million compared to JPY 2,597 million a year ago. Ordinary income was JPY 5,800 million compared to JPY 6,254 million a year ago. Profit before income taxes was JPY 5,756 million against JPY 5,789 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent was JPY 3,633 million compared to JPY 3,478 million a year ago. Earnings per share was JPY 136.07 compared to JPY 130.26 a year ago.
For the financial year ending March 31, 2017, the company expects net sales of JPY 104,000 million, operating income of JPY 4,500 million, ordinary income of JPY 11,000 million, profit attributable to owners of parent of JPY 6,800 million and earnings per share of JPY 254.
