Nadir Figueiredo Indústria e Comércio S.A. (BOVESPA:NAFG4) entered into an agreement to acquire Glass Items Manufacturing Premises and Assets from Owens-Illinois do Brasil Indústria e Comércio S.A. for BRL 29.5 million on May 25, 2017. As per the terms of the deal, the transaction involves a plant in Vitória do Santo Antao, Pernambuco, designed for the production of crockery products as well as certain assets and inventories of its plant located in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The total consideration of BRL 29.5 million will be paid at the closing of the transaction. The closing of the transaction will occur upon the occurrence of certain conditions precedent including the approval by the Brazilian Antitrust Authority. As of January 17, 2018, The General Superintendence of CADE suggested the rejection of the acquisition.
