National Foods Limited reported unaudited unconsolidated financial results for the second quarter and half year ended December 31, 2017. For the second quarter, the company reported sales were PKR 3,291,362 compared to PKR 3,197,368 a year ago. Operating profit was PKR 47,195 compared to PKR 241,714 a year ago. Profit before taxation was PKR 18,817 compared to PKR 230,157 a year ago. Loss after taxation was PKR 19,786 or PKR 0.19 per basic and diluted share compared to profit of PKR 158,855 or PKR 1.53 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the half year, the company reported sales were PKR 7,630,258 compared to PKR 6,833,615 a year ago. Operating profit was PKR 516,798 compared to PKR 671,249 a year ago. Profit before taxation was PKR 467,634 compared to PKR 641,782 a year ago. Profit after taxation was PKR 288,602 or PKR 2.79 per basic and diluted share compared to PKR 444,303 or PKR 4.29 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
National Foods Limited is a Pakistan-based multi category foods company. The Company is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of food products. The Company offers approximately 250 products in over 13 categories. The Company offers made easy, recipe mixes, ingredients, salt, ketchups, pickles, mayonnaise, desserts, chutneys, sauces & pastes, seasonings. It also offers desserts, which comprises of traditional dishes like kheer and vermicelli along with more contemporary variants like jelly and custards. In addition, the Company offers a range of approximately 50 recipes, such as biryanis, curries, barbeque items and kababs.
