Newpark Resources, Inc. reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2023. For the fourth quarter, the company reported sales was USD 167.82 million compared to USD 225.16 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 0.476 million compared to net income of USD 8.99 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was USD 0.01 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of USD 0.1 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was USD 0.01 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of USD 0.1 a year ago.
For the full year, sales was USD 749.6 million compared to USD 815.59 million a year ago. Net income was USD 14.52 million compared to net loss of USD 20.83 million a year ago. Newpark Resources, Inc. is a geographically diversified supplier providing products, as well as rentals and services to customers across multiple industries. The Company operates through two segments include Industrial Solutions, Fluids Systems and Industrial Blending. Its Industrial Solutions segment provides temporary worksite access solutions, including the rental of its recyclable composite matting systems, along with related site construction and services to customers in various markets including power transmission, oil and natural gas exploration and production (E&P), pipeline, renewable energy, petrochemical, construction and other industries, primarily in the United States and Europe. Its Fluids Systems segment provides drilling, completion, and stimulation fluids products and related technical services to customers for oil, natural gas, and geothermal projects primarily in North America and Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as certain countries in Asia Pacific.
