Continuing uncertain situation

In the 44th fiscal year, there were signs that economic activity has started to emerge from the shadow of the coronavirus crisis in many parts of the world, but the outlook remained uncertain amid prolonged supply chain disruptions, soaring energy prices, and rapidly fluctuating foreign exchange rates accompanied by spiking interest rates.

Stretch blow molding machine industry

• Easing of personnel entry restrictions around the world
• Resumed large-scale exhibitions
• An upturn in sales environment

Business activity stayed strong

Meanwhile, in the stretch blow molding machine industry, to which the Group belongs, business activity stayed strong as the sales environment improved as entry restrictions were eased around the world and large-scale exhibitions resumed. There were some concerns, however, such as lower capital investment motivation.

Amid this uncertainty, the Group continued its development policy for medium-to-long term growth and carried out strategic measures aimed at expanding its business scale.

Technology Front

• Further evolution of Zero Cooling System
• Expansion of variety of applicable containers molded by mass-production machine, PF36
• Enhancing development of environment-conscious technologies

On the technology front, we continued to further evolve our Zero Cooling System, which gives our products an edge, and boosted product competitiveness.

We also continued to develp the PF36 series, a large 1.5-step machine that excels in the mass production of high-quality beverage bottles, aiming to expand its variety of applicable containers.

As for environment-conscious technologies, we focused on the development of a double-layer molding process which enables to develop a variety of new containers, and heat-resistant bottles by which the reuse of PET bottles can be proposed.
