Niuminco Group Limited announced bonanza grades of 83.3g/t gold from a newly discovered vein in the Ingopae area of Edie Creek, approximately 200 metres south of the camp compound. Following bulk sampling of a vein near the Edie Creek valley floor in the same area last week by Niuminco's geological field team, workings were done at night by illegal artisanal miners some 80 metres to the south-west of, and parallel to, this vein. Niuminco's team then moved to bulk-sample this new, narrow, northeast-southwest running vein after exposing it further both along and down strike. Over the three days 10 to 12 September, 2.6 tonnes of the vein material have produced 218.7g (7.0 ounces) of gold, with sampling and processing continuing. This gold and 191.2g (6.1ounces) of silver was produced from 882g of wet (not retorted) amalgam, which is a typical ratio for Edie Creek vein materials (22-25% gold and 20-25% silver as a percentage of the wet amalgam).
