Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. (OTCPK: NORN.Q) is seeking bankruptcy court approval to sell off its primary aluminum business, including the smelter in southeast Missouri. The smelter includes a bauxite mine in Jamaica, a refinery in Gramercy La., and the smelter in New Madrid, 160 miles south of St. Louis. If Noranda receives the approval from the bankruptcy court it will finalize the sale by the end of the September, 2016.
