The Minnetonka, Minnesota-based company said it had profit of $3.90 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $1.61 per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.64 per share.

The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $793.5 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $543.4 million, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $554.5 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $923 million, or $10.03 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.9 billion.
