Orlen group, through its subsidiary Energa Wytwarzanie, took over the development project of a 130 MW solar power farm. The investment, located in the Lower Silesia region, will be completed by the end of 2025. Orlen took over the project from British company Lightsource bp.

The start of the investment is planned for April. In the first year of operation the farm will be able to produce 145 GWh of electric energy with higher production possible in the future. The group currently owns 100 MW of power installed in 11 working solar power farms and micro-installations.

By 2023 Orlen group, according to its strategy, will have renewable energy sources of 9 GW combined power including offshore and onshore wind farms, photovoltaics, hydroelectric power plants as well as biogas and bio methane power generation units among others.
