Osaka Gas Group Named a CDLI Company for its Excellence in Information Disclosure

The Osaka Gas Group has been selected a company among 24 businesses in Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index ('CDLI') second time since 2013. The group of entities, recognized by CDP(*) as outstanding, is chosen among 500 selected Japanese companies for information disclosure on business strategy on climate change.

CDP, an international not-for-profit organization, requests more than 5,000 selected companies all over the world including 500 top Japanese ones to disclose data and their activities regarding corporate strategy, approaches on climate change. Based on companies' responses, CDP annually selects companies for its indices. This year, it selected 25 companies which acquired full marks among 500 Japanese companies.

The Osaka Gas Group has actively made efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emission in its businesses activities and at customers' sites. Those efforts include utilization of unused cryogenic energy of LNG for power generation at LNG terminals, as well as promotion of wide-spread use of eco-friendly gas systems such as fuel cells 'Ene-Farm.' It also has been making strong efforts to improve the way of measurement of emission and reduction of CO2 as well as disclosure of such information. The Group recognizes the selection as a CDLI is the result of those efforts.
