(Alliance News) - abrdn PLC on Thursday said it has hired Jason Windsor as chief financial officer, poaching him from housebuilder Persimmon PLC.

abrdn, an Edinburgh-based fund manager, said Windsor will join at the end of October. Windsor has been with Persimmon for only a year. Prior to Persimmon, he was CFO of insurer Aviva PLC from 2019 to 2022.

Persimmon said Windsor will leave on September 1, when Chief Executive Dean Finch will assume interim responsibility for finances. It has begun the search for a new CFO.

Persimmon said there is no change to the guidance that it provided back in April. It will release half-year results on August 10.

Separately on Thursday, Sky News reported that abrdn plans to merge its Global Absolute Return Strategies fund into the company's diversified asset funds and will cease to operate as a standalone vehicle.

This after the fund's assets declined sharply over the past seven years.
