Kanan Mirzayev, who took on the role of Acting Head of SOCAR Türkiye's Refinery and Petrochemical Business Unit and Acting General Manager of Petkim starting from September 13th, obtained his financial education at Azerbaijan State University of Economic. Subsequently, he pursued a master's degree in Industrial Enterprise Management at Aston University in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, while continuing his education in the UK, he earned an Executive Management Diploma from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and made significant contributions to his career through international education and experiences, which included completing the leadership development program at Harvard Business School in 2019-2020. Commencing his professional journey in 2004 within the diverse group companies of SOCAR and actively participating in numerous international projects, Mirzayev took on a range of responsibilities spanning various domains including operations, occupational health and safety, quality, and business excellence. Following that, he assumed roles as a Senior Business Analyst and acted as the CEO at SOCAR Energy Greece, served as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Strategy and Business Development at Petkim, and held the position of Vice President for Business Excellence within the Refinery and Petrochemical Business Unit. Since October 2020, Mirzayev has held the role of Chief Strategy Officer at SOCAR Türkiye.
