Precise Biometrics, has signed a commercial license agreement with LaserSemicon CO.,LT (previously CanvasBio), a Korean fingerprint sensor manufacturer. The agreement covers Precise Biometrics fingerprint algorithm and is a natural next step of the evaluation license agreement signed by LaserSemicon in 2022. The business terms include an initial license fee of USD 45 000 as well as royalty fees based on the number of sensor units shipped.

The signed commercial license agreement gives the right to commercial use of the Precise BioMatch algorithm as part of LaserSemicon's fingerprint sensors and the first project will for use in laptops. The solution developed by Precise and LaserSemicon is based on a ?Match-on-Chip solution?, which is a rather new technology. It means that the biometric verification will take place in a processor separated from a computing devise?s application processor to achieve a higher level of security in line with, for example, Microsoft Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security standard for laptops and notebooks.
