MARKET ANNOUNCEMENT BNDES disburses R$ 600mn bridge loan for Alto Sertão II - wind power complex

Renova Energia S.A. (RNEW11), the first company operating solely in power generation from renewable sources listed on the Brazilian stock exchange (BM&FBovespa), reports to stockholders and the market as follows:

Today (June 25, 2013) the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) disbursed the funding for its bridge loan contracts with the companies comprising the Alto Sertão II Wind Farm Complex, as approved by Renova's board meetings of April 22, 2013 and May 10, 2013.

The contracts are for a total of R$ 600.0 million, maturing on June 15, 2014 or on disbursement of the first tranche of the long-term financing contract to be signed between BNDES and the Company, whichever is earlier.

Part of this funding was used to settle the R$ 300.0 million bridge loans signed with BNDES in 2012 (our Market Announcement of Dec. 27, 2012). The rest will be used in construction of the Alto Sertão II wind farm complex, in the interior of Bahia State. These wind plants, with capacity for 386.1 MW, will generate the supply they contracted in Brazil's Reserve Power Auction of 2010 (the LER 2010 Auction) and New Supply Auction of 2011 (the 2011 A-3 Auction).
