(Alliance News) - SolidWorld Group Spa on Friday unveiled a global premiere - at the BIO3DModel and Bio3DPrinting Technology Cluster - of "Electrospider," the first 3D bioprinter capable of replicating human cell tissues.

The goal of Electrospider is to get to recreate complete and complex structures of entire implantable organs for a major technological advancement to safeguard and benefit human life. The printer will make it possible to study complex, multicellular tissue samples recreated from patient cells, thus enabling tests to be conducted without direct patient testing, the company explained in a note.

We are excited and proud to officially introduce Electrospider to the Italian medical sector. This innovative technology represents an important step forward in human tissue reproduction and clinical trials. We are therefore looking forward to seeing how Electrospider's innovation will help improve medical research and patients' quality of life. It is definitely a major breakthrough in regenerative medicine and biofabrication, combining the most advanced 3D technology of generating the digital twin of a complex tissue or organ with the innovation of creating the biological twin of the same," commented Roberto Rizzo, President of Solidworld Group.

SolidWorld Group trades in the green by 3.5 percent at EUR3.89 per share.
