(Reuters) - Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (>> Valeant Pharmaceuticals Intl Inc) is near a deal to buy Salix Pharmaceuticals Ltd (>> Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd.) for about $10 billion (6 billion pounds), the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday.
