Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced that it has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World (DJSI World) for 15 consecutive years, the first Korean company to achieve this honor.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has been included in the DJSI World since 2009, and the 15 consecutive years of inclusion is the longest of any Korean company.

The DJSI evaluates a company's sustainability in three categories: E (environment), S (society), and G (governance).

Samsung Electro-Mechanics received high scores in the areas of climate change response strategies, including company-wide energy reduction activities, introduction of high-efficiency facilities, and waste recycling activities, as well as systematic supply chain and product management, and customer relationship management.

DJSI is a globally recognized authority in the field of corporate sustainability assessment. Each year, DJSI evaluates the top 2,500 global companies by liquid market capitalization, comprehensively taking into account not only economic performance but also environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.

The DJSI includes the "DJSI World", "DJSI Asia-Pacific", and "DJSI Korea", with the "DJSI World" being the highest ranking, which recognizes the top 10% of companies globally.

"We will do our best to realize a sustainable future as a top-tier tech company across the entire ESG spectrum, including eco-friendly management, ESG cooperation in the supply chain, and transparent governance," said Chang Duckhyun, CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has been recognized for its ESG performance not only by the DJSI but also by various sustainability rating agencies. It has been recognized as an ESG leader, including being the first company in the industry to be certified by the Carbon Trust for "Carbon Footprint", selected for the FTSE4Good Index for 13 consecutive years, certified as "Zero Waste to Landfill" at all domestic business sites, and a member of the Global Supply Chain "RBA".

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has established an ESG Committee within the Board of Directors and appointed Lee Yoonjung, an environment specialist lawyer, as the ESG Committee Chairperson. In addition, Samsung Electro-Mechanics maintains a ratio of female outside directors of more than 50% to increase diversity on the Board of Directors and has given an outside director the role of BOD Chairperson to strengthen its independence.

In particular, Samsung Electro-Mechanics employees are actively participating in the Sharing Kiosk on a voluntary basis. The Sharing Kiosk donates KRW 1,000 every time employees tag their employee ID cards to the device, helping to spread a culture of donation that is practiced in everyday life. More than 10,000 people, representing 85% of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' domestic employees, have participated in the program, with an average of 44 tags per person.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics also supports the eradication of cyberbullying through the "Blue Elephant (PUCO)" program, a youth cyberbullying prevention program, to strengthen its social responsibility.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is carrying out "ZERO WAVE", an employee participation ESG activity. The company is taking part in a campaign to create "zero" in five areas of ESG practice: ▲ Zero waste ▲ Net Zero ▲ Zero bias ▲ Zero water scarcity and ▲ Zero social distance.
