Excolere Equity Partners and Cambridge Information Group, Inc. acquired EPS School Specialty Division of School Specialty, LLC on March 2, 2023. As part of the acquisition, Excolere appointed Education industry veteran Steven Guttentag as Chief Executive Officer of EPS. Steven is the former Chief Executive Officer of Reading Plus, a K-12 evidence-based online reading program, and former President and Co-founder of Pearson Online & Blended Learning. Along with Steven, Excolere recruited several other senior executives to join the EPS management team. Christopher Curran, Vivek Kamath, Max Woolf, Brian Feeney of Tyton Partners acted as financial advisor to School Specialty. Lincoln International, TRIAGO, and DLA Piper respectively acted as the exclusive debt advisor, private placement agent, and legal advisor to Excolere.
Excolere Equity Partners and Cambridge Information Group, Inc. completed the acquisition of EPS School Specialty Division of School Specialty, LLC on March 2, 2023. Excolere Equity Partners secured an $87.5 million senior secured credit facility (the “Financingâ€) for EPS School Specialty. The Financing was used to refinance existing debt and fund the acquisition of the Company from School Specialty, LLC, by private equity firm Excolere Equity Partners.

(SSI), is a distributor of supplies, furniture, technology products, supplemental learning products (instructional solutions) and curriculum solutions, primarily to the education marketplace. It designs, develops and provides educators with its own products and services. Its segments include Distribution and curriculum. Distribution segment offers products that include basic classroom supplies and office products, supplemental learning materials, physical education equipment and classroom technology. Curriculum segment is a PreK-12 curriculum-based publisher of products in the categories of science and reading and literacy. Through its SSI Guardian subsidiary, the Company provides curriculum, training and safety and security products for school, healthcare and corporate workplace. Its SOAR life products are a customized offering for hospitals, long-term care, therapeutic facilities, home care, surgery centers and clinics.
