Schroders Capital today announces it secured an initial £100 million commitment for a dedicated UK Operating Hotels strategy. The focused strategy is launched to cater to strong inbound investor demand following the success of its pan-European sister fund.

Building on the performance of the Schroders Capital European Operating Hotels strategy - which closed above its fundraising target at €525 million two years ago - the Schroders Capital UK Operating Hotels will extend the firm's presence in the UK market.

The stragegy will leverage Schroders Capital's 40 strong hotel investment and asset management team to secure control positions in operationally intensive hotel assets in established growth cities across the UK.

James MacNamara, Head of Operating Real Estate Strategies at Schroders Capital, said:

"This launch reflects our commitment to providing our clients with diverse investment opportunities in highly operational real estate sectors and further strengthens our position as one of a leading players in the market.

"Schroders Capital is well-positioned to bring the platform's experience and track record to bear in identifying, securing and managing attractive investment opportunities."
