On March 29, 2016, SailingStone Capital Partners LLC announced that it will submit a candidate for re-election to the Board of Directors of Chemical & Mining Co. of Chile Inc. for consideration at the ordinary shareholders meeting scheduled for April 26, 2016. In addition, SailingStone Capital stated that it has proposed the re-election of Edward J. Waitzer to serve as an Independent Director.
Further, the Company stated that it intends to vote all of its shares in favor of Edward Waitzer and they will seek to encourage other holders of Series B Shares of the Company to also vote their shares in favor of the election of Edward Waitzer.
