STV today welcomed the inclusion of the Media Bill in the King's Speech, which enshrines Public Service Media's prominence in the digital era. The legislation will ensure that the Video on Demand services run by PSBs, like STV Player, are easily discoverable on digital platforms and devices, including connected TVs, streaming sticks and set top boxes.

STV's Chief Executive, Simon Pitts, welcomed the news but stressed the importance of swift passage of the Bill through Parliament to protect the future of Public Service Media:
